26 mayors part Midlands Mayors Forum

Public art. Potholes. Maximizing budgets. Mosquito-borne illness. Our chief public servants across the Midlands deal with such a mixed bag of possibilities and challenges every day – and bi-monthly they convene as the Midlands Mayors Forum to learn and share ideas that will improve the lives of citizens across our region. The Midlands Mayors Forum has met under the umbrella of EngenuitySC since 2015. Since then, the group has used its time together to promote a shared political agenda for the region concerning issues such as road improvements, business growth and development, and revenue generation for capital projects; to identify large-scale issues that require cross-community collaboration, and to showcase their abundant community spirit at events like the Midlands Gives Nephron Hoops Challenge.

Says Mayor Charlene Herring, “The Midlands Mayors Forum provides a venue for networking and connectivity for Mayors. The ideas shared  from a local, state and national perspective are applicable to all. I am inspired and challenged by the forum to make a greater difference in my town as Mayor of Ridgeway.”
