Wells Fargo & Co. said it contributed $3.1 million to more than 375 nonprofits in South Carolina in 2011. In addition, the company’s employees volunteered 10,800 hours to help their neighborhoods and communities.

Contributions included:

  • $539,000 to the Wells Fargo Community Support and United Way campaign.
  • 18,000 pounds of food throughout the state, and contributed $50,000 to the Harvest Hope and Lowcountry Food Bank.
  • Sponsoring of Black Expos in Charleston, Columbia and Greenville.
  • Raising $65,000 by sponsoring a celebrity softball game for Louie’s Kids, a nonprofit organization that raises funds to help treat childhood obesity....
